Technical Writer

Technical Writer – 1 year placement

Who is eligible? Unemployed or underemployed youth (under the age of 30) who have graduated with a degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution within the last three years, are legally entitled to work in Canada, and have not been previously employed under a FedNor Youth Internship funding agreement, or other federal or provincial internship with pay for a period of six (6) months or more.

This full-time 1 year placement position is partially funded by FedNor’s Northern Ontario Development Program.

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Manager of Research & Development and Commercialization, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating end user and administrator documentation for BESTECH’s products.

Skills and Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Automation or Mining Engineering.
• Moderate to advanced technical writing skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
• Ability to deliver quality products.

 Responsibilities

• Gain sufficient knowledge of the product to begin work on published document.
• Complete Help content to be embedded in application help and help manuals.
• Update product manuals and specification documents.
• Update training manuals for future training needs.
